Easter Basket Cupcakes Recipe
Put a little spring into your dessert this holiday weekend with these cute classic treats the kids and entire family will love

Looking for something a little festive to serve the kids this Easter holiday? Give these little Easter basket cupcakes a try. In fact, get the kids to lend a hand – it's that easy!
Unless you have favorite cake recipe, use a boxed cake mix and whip up a batch. Let them cool thoroughly.
Same goes for frosting: Buy a ready-made can or find a recipe for butter cream frosting – it's only three ingredients and takes just a few minutes to make.
Add a few drops of green food coloring to the icing and mix well. Spread a generous amount on each cupcake. Sprinkle with green decorating sugar – the same kind you use on Christmas cookies.
Next you'll need some jellybeans or small Easter candy to place atop each cupcake. Look for your favorite candies – as long as they are small so they don't overwhelm the cupcake. We like little chocolate rabbits, filled chocolate eggs and malted milk ball eggs. Gently press them into the icing so they stay in place.
The handle of the basket is made from sour straw candy. Cut a piece 4 to 6 inches long and arch it across the cupcake.
Place the cupcakes on a large serving plate and use as a centerpiece if the you and the kids can resist them for a time – or if you have a cupcake server, that's even better. It's a great way to start a family tradition and get the kids involved in something other than decorating eggs for a happy and memorable Easter.
