Noodle Recipes for Family Meals

Who doesn’t love noodles? Thick, thin, flat, tubed noodles come in a variety of shapes and sizes. And there are so many ways to serve them up. You can keep things simple and spend your time making homemade noodles. Or purchase a bag of egg noodles or other kinds to put into baked dishes like chicken divan egg noodle casserole or sour cream noodle bake. Let the sauce cook all day before mixing in noodles with a slow cooker creamy beef stroganoff. For lighter dishes try out Asian chicken noodles or sesame chicken cucumber noodle salad. It’s noodle time!

Homemade Noodles

These homemade noodles from Betty Crocker have only a few ingredients – flour, salt, eggs, water and oil – that’s it! Knead the dough and then roll it out as thin as possible. Cut the dough into thin strips and then dry before cooking. Eat plain or top with creamy sauce.

Chicken Divan Egg Noodle Casserole

Make egg noodles into a hearty dish with this chicken divan egg noodle casserole from Rachael Ray on The Food Network. First, cut and cook the chicken. Create a creamy sauce using milk, thickened with flour and egg yolks. Mix the chicken, broccolini and cooked noodles into the thickened sauce before baking. Broil until the sauce bubbles and crisps on top.

Sour Cream Noodle Bake

Here’s another casserole that’s made easier with the addition of noodles. This sour cream noodle bake from The Pioneer Woman tastes like a cross between cheeseburgers and a hint of lasagna. Your kids will love this dish that you can serve in either a bowl or on a plate.

Slow Cooker Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Thinly slice beefsteaks and add them into a Crock-Pot before topping it with cream of mushroom soup, water, Worcestershire sauce, mushrooms, onions and garlic. Cook on low for eight hours or so and stir in sour cream just before serving. This slow cooker creamy beef stroganoff from Campbell’s Kitchen goes perfectly with egg noodles.
