Unique Gifts for Teachers for Back to School

Launch the new school year right with a special 'hello' gift from your child to his or her teacher. Here are a few different picks that stand out.

Unique Gifts for Teachers for Back to School

School bells will soon be ringing here in southeast Michigan. And making a good first impression at the beginning of the school year is important. So, instead of your kid giving their new teacher an apple on that first day of class, kick the year off right by giving something she (or he) will really enjoy.

Acrylic Name Plate

Get your new teacher a nameplate that's as unique as she is. These personalized gifts by Lime Tree Gifts on Etsy sell for $16 and are made of clear acrylic and include colorful vinyl designs. Choose from over 18 colors and 17 fonts to customize the gift to match your new teacher's personality.

Caffeine Molecule Mug

For about $7, this mug from Think Geek is perfect for coffee or tea obsessed teachers. The clear glass mug features the molecule for caffeine in green – also making it an ideal pick for science teachers.

Four Function Ruler Pen

Help your teacher cut down on desk clutter with this four-function ruler pen. It's a pencil, pen, highlighter and PDA stylus – all in one! The multi-functional tool from Uncommon Goods can also be used as a ruler.

Personal Library Kit

This cute kit from Knock Knock Stuff is a great and funny gift for the teacher who is always loaning out books. For $15, the set comes with 20 self-adhesive pockets and checkout cards, a date stamp, inkpad and a pencil.

The New Yorker Book of Teacher Cartoons

For the teacher with a good sense of humor, The New Yorker Book of Teacher Cartoons is a hardcover collection of 100 of The New Yorker's funniest teacher-themed cartoons. This silly book is about $17 from Barnes & Noble.

Thank you for sharing this! I personally like the ideas on page 4 and 6. A simple gift can make your teacher smile and happy! You don't have to spend much and you can always go for engraved gifts.
