Craft Roundup for Earth Day Fun

Earth Day has been celebrated for more than 40 years in the United States, and more than 20 years around the world. We try to repurpose and reuse as often as possible in our homes, and that’s definitely true when it comes to craft supplies for both parent and child. This week’s Make It celebrates Earth Day with creative craft projects to use up supplies and feel appreciative of the planet we call home.

Jewelry Pom-Pom Box

Andrea at Oh Dear Drea has a nifty idea for a pom-pom box that’s soft and colorful and easy to make. If you don’t have an old wooden box on hand, look around for a gift box in your wrapping paper collection – just as good.

Cereal Box Gift Bags

Don’t send those empty cereal boxes to the recycling bin so fast. Hang on to them for your children to decorate and turn into sturdy gift bags with this idea from Creative Jewish Mom.

Paper Flower Pinwheel

This paper pinwheel project from Molly Moo Crafts has “spring” written all over it and is a great way to use a spare vase or flowerpot in the garage. Even better – pull those paper scraps from your child’s art stash to use for the flower.

Basket of Fun

This basket might have been designed with Easter in mind, but using primary colors, or any colors you like, it’s a great gift bag. AND it uses up any leftover birthday balloons! Find directions at I Love to Create.
