Craft Roundup: Glitter Holiday Projects
The holidays are just about here! Shine and sparkle things up with a DIY headband, kitchen magnet, house ornament or some glitter garland.
Let's talk about glitter. Some crafters love it, others loathe it. No matter your opinion on the matter (I happen to love it – and, for those that don't, I suggest the Martha Stewart Glitter Cleanup Roller!), glitter adds a festive kick to your holiday crafting. This week's roundup is all about the sparkle, from just a bit to a whole lot. Whip it into creations you can wear in your hair, use to deck the fridge or tree with – or even string along the mantle to welcome a certain someone on Dec. 25.
Thanks to this Pintrest pin from Michaels, you can make a glitzy holiday headband with just a few supplies. They've blinged things up with a golden poinsettia and ribbon with a tinsel effect. What other baubles would you add to your own?
Look at all that glitter! Rust & Sunshine has an easy idea for a kitchen magnet makeover – including any cutout shape your heart desires, Mod Podge and, naturally, lots and lots of sparkle.
There's just a little bit of glitter on these sweet home ornaments, made of stone clay, from Creature Comforts. If your child has a few friends over, why not set up an assembly line of clay cutting to make a tree-ful of these?
The black and silver tape used here is great for New Year's Eve (substitute with ribbon, if you can't hunt down the tape). Just imagine a variety of other holiday colors on additional strings! Get shining with the how-to from Omiyage Blogs.
