This Halloween, forget the carving – and create these two goofy googly eyed companions sure to add some silly cuteness to the scary holiday

Funkins Craft Pumpkins Projects Feature a Witch and Frankenstein

Did you have fun making your mummy craft pumpkin? If that project's a "wrap" (hah!), why not give pharaoh a few friends – and take your craft pumpkins to the next level? Personalizing pumpkins without all the goop and guts is a snap with these ideas. You probably recognize these quintessentially creepy Halloween faces – given an unquestionably cute makeover: a classic witch and Frankenstein himself.

Materials

  • Craft pumpkin (orange)
  • Green card stock
  • Craft paint (pick basic colors like black, green, etc.)
  • Googly eyes
  • Black marker
  • Tissue paper (black and orange)
  • Foam brush
  • Hot glue and glue gun
  • Stapler Additional decorations (black witch's hat)

Instructions

1. Start out by marking out the "hair" area to paint. Measure down about 1-2 inches from the top of pumpkin. Draw a line around the front half of the pumpkin and then draw a line down.
2. Paint the back of the pumpkin to create the hair. For Frankenstein, paint the hair black and then paint the face green. For the witch, don't paint the hair area, but paint the remaining space green to create her face. Let dry.
3. For Frankenstein, once the paint is dry, cut two strips of black tissue paper and then cut some fringe strips to create bangs. Hot-glue on to the top of the pumpkin, covering the green/black line.
4. You're almost done updating your Frankenstein. Cut out two small T-shaped pieces of paper. Glue to either side of Frankenstein's face to create bolts.
5. For the witch, cut long strips of orange tissue paper and gather into groups. Staple together and set aside.
6. With your tissue paper groups, hot-glue them around the crown of the pumpkin, avoiding the front of the face. Once the glue is dry, add your witch's hat to the pumpkin.
7. On each pumpkin, glue a set of googly eyes on the front. Then, add a mouth to each, too. Have fun with their expressions!
8. You're all set! Are there any other Halloween characters you would like to create?
