Summer Spans from Bridgeport to Detroit to Cleveland

Whether cookouts in Connecticut, fun day trips around the D or the big Puerto Rican festival in Ohio, vacation was a blast for this tween.

Summer Spans from Bridgeport to Detroit to Cleveland

This summer, my first trip was to Bridgeport, Conn. There, I got to see my family and friends. With my family I enjoyed cookouts, playing with my cousins, went to the lake with friends – I even got a bike. After an enjoyable week we drove back to Detroit.

Back home, I got involved in a summer program and on Fridays we go to different trips – for example museums, water parks and arcades. We also took a weekend getaway to Cleveland, Ohio. Here, we visited my aunt and her family. We went to the Puerto Rican festival. I played games and rode on the rides and had so much fun. I won some inflatables.

The next day was the Puerto Rican parade. I really enjoyed seeing so many Puerto Ricans celebrating our heritage. I bought a few souvenirs to take with me and to share with my grandfather. Now I'm getting all my school supplies and school gear together. I can't wait to start my new school!
