Boot Camp Family Summer
It might sound like a bust. For this Oakland County tween, though, the fun workouts (and fruit and vegetable snacks) were a life-changing blast.
School was coming to an end, and my mom and stepdad needed to find something to keep us busy. So they decided to do boot camp with us.
We jogged, did push-ups, sit ups, bench presses, squats, jumping jacks, jump rope, bike rides and long walks after dinner. I started the summer out at 90 pounds. By summer's end, I weighed 80 pounds.
This is a memorable summer for me is because I gained an appreciation for vegetables. Our snacks were replaced with vegetables or fruit. It may sound like a boring summer for some, but for me, I'm grateful for the knowledge that my health is very important. Also, keep in mind – the workouts were so fun that we kept coming back for more.
