Living with Autism Workshop 2010 Featuring Temple Grandin
Metro Parent's Living with Autism Workshop, held April 29, 2010 at the MET Hotel in Troy, featured keynote speaker Temple Grandin – the most successful autistic person in the world
Metro Parent and Henry Ford Health System were pleased to host Temple Grandin, the most successful autistic person in the world, at their third annual "Living With Autism Workshop" on April 29, 2010. The event, held at the MET Hotel in Troy, was a sell out!
New highlights this year included an additional breakout session (boosting the total to three) and opening speaker, Nick Dubin, author of Asperger Syndrome and Bullying Strategies and Solutions. Keynote speaker Temple Grandin recently had inspired an HBO bio film starring Claire Danes. (You can also hear Temple in this NPR segment.)
As always, attendees had opportunities to make connections with those working or coping with autism, visit vendor booths from local autism experts, and talk to parents of children with autism during the provided continental breakfast and lunch.
