Alice in Wonderland at the Marquis Theatre

Don't be late for this very important date in Northville with Alice, The Mad Hatter and more March 10-May 6, 2012 at a kids theater favorite

"It was much pleasanter at home, when one wasn't always growing larger and smaller, and being ordered about by mice and rabbits."

That's just one of the many curiouser and curiouser things a young girl named Alice says after she falls down a rabbit hole and into a fantasyland in the well-known tale of Alice in Wonderland, which hits the stage at the Marquis Theatre in Northville March 10-May 6, 2012.

This stage show is an adaptation of the 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll penned the original book, later known as Alice in Wonderland and, thanks to a Disney rendition in 1951 and Tim Burton spin starring Johnny Depp in 2010, the tale of a girl's adventure lives on.

Alice encounters all sorts of interesting characters on her action-packed adventure, including The Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts and, of course, The White Rabbit.

Singing, dancing and audience participation bring this show to life. Kids are guaranteed to be on their feet! And, in order to make The Cheshire Cat's famous grin glow properly, the producers of the show even use black lights.

Parents and children alike will enjoy this local rendition – and the chance to see all these fairytale favorites live on stage. Of the 14 actors in the production, 12 of them are children.

Some kids are a bit too young for this tea party, though: Little audience goers must be ages 3 or older to attend.

Tickets for the magical theater treat are $8.50 per person. Show times and days vary, so be sure to see the Metro Parent listing for more on Alice in Wonderland at the Marquis Theatre in Northville.
