Bunnyville at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak

Add a zoo trip, egg-inspired games and fun festivities to your Easter weekend traditions, March 30, 2013

Sure, spending time at your grandparents' house for Easter – dining on all your favorite holiday meals and hanging out with the family – is nice, but why not step it up a notch this year? Hop into spring with some awesome activities by taking the youngsters to Bunnyville at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak on March 30, 2013, where you and your family can create memories – and a new Easter-weekend tradition.

Now in its 22nd year, this event – which is sponsored by Meijer – offers a golden egg hunt, where your little ones can win some really neat prizes, a Jelly Bean Jamboree and Funny Bunny Games. If that's not enough to keep your little hoppers fully occupied, take them to see the Broadway Productions' performance of The Bunny Follies, which will take place at the Events Pavilion at noon and 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

While at this eggstravaganza, make sure your tots get their official Bunnyville whiskers at the Whisker Painting station. And, don't forget to take kids for a photo with the Easter Bunny – you can purchase the photos.

The festive fun runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. General admission to the Detroit Zoo is $14 for ages 15-61, $9 for ages 2-14 and free for kids under 2 – and Detroit Zoological Society Members. If you bring a canned or non-perishable food item, you will receive a reduced admission price of $8 (this does not include parking).
