The Easter Bunny is back in town – and he'll be unleashing a blizzard of marshmallows over southeast Michigan. Spring is in full swing, so ring in the season with fluffy white puffs of sugar and fun – as parks in Southfield, Trenton, Waterford, Wayne and Westland hold annual marshmallow drop events on March 23 and 29, 2013.

Civic Center Soccer Fields

Head on over to the Civic Center Soccer Fields in Waterford at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 and get in on all of the marshmallow-catching action. Kids ages 1-11 will be able to hunt for marshmallows and, of course, get some nifty prizes in return. If your youngsters get parched, there will be light refreshments available for purchase. This event is free, but requires $5 vehicle entry.

Wayne County Parks

Once again – for the 29th year – Wayne County Parks will be holding free back-to-back marshmallow drops on Friday, March 29, kicking off at 9 a.m. at Elizabeth Park in Trenton. Then, at 11 a.m., stop by Nankin Mills Park in Westland for more marshmallow madness. Make sure to show up and be ready to catch some sugary fluff and fun. Resist the temptation to eat these yummy concoctions, because they can be traded for neat prizes.

Anderson Ball Fields

Are you from Wayne County, but not in the Trenton or Westland area? Well, you're in luck! There will also be a marshmallow drop event at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29 at the Anderson Ball Fields in Wayne. All of that running around might work up an appetite for your tots, so don't forget to grab a bunny breakfast after this marshmallow extravaganza. This event is free, but breakfast will cost $4 for residents and $5.50 for non-residents.

Catalpa Oaks County Park

Haven't gotten your fix of marshmallow fun? Well, swing by Catalpa Oaks County Park at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29 to catch one of 15,000 marshmallows that will be falling from the sky. Don't forget to exchange your new fluffy find for an awesome prize that you can take home! This event is free to the public.
