Meet Ava, Metro Parent April 2013 CoverKid – VIDEO

The future looks positively presidential – or at least bright! – for this bubbly Fraser 6-year-old. In our Q&A, get her spin on why a girl president would rule and more.

Ava makes a great-looking president, don't you think? This Fraser 6-year-old served as the first little girl prez – to grace the cover of our magazine, anyway! Her sparkly eyes and proper, forward-looking gaze steal the show on the April 2013 Metro Parent magazine. And, as you'll see in our behind-the-scenes chat with southeast Michigan kid Ava, she's got a sparkly smile and infectious giggle, too.

In the video, just below, get the scoop on Ava's photo shoot, what she would do if she became president (hint: lots of free stuff for you, tons of puppies for her) and what her very own Disney cruise ship would serve (pass the ice cream and spaghetti, please). Oh, and of course, get her take on why a woman president would be a smart move.

Interested in your kid being on the cover of Metro Parent magazine? Our annual CoverKids event gives your child a shot at one of 10 top spots. Natural self-confidence, poise and personality are what it takes (as you can see with Ava). We hope you'll get your kids involved with the next CoverKids. You never know: The might wind up in the spotlight, too.
