Pontiac Regional Chamber Carnival at the Oakland Pointe Shopping Center

Carnival season commences with this annual Oakland County event, which takes place April 25-May 5, 2013

Corn dogs and carnivals go hand-in-hand, along with cotton candy and coasters. Expect all this and more at the Pontiac Regional Chamber Carnival, April 25-May 5, 2013, at the Oakland Pointe Shopping Center.

Summer is right around the corner. How do we know? Carnival season is upon us! That's right, the sights, the smells and the sticky fingers we remember so fondly return for more family fun.

This outdoor experience features it all, including a whopping 30 rides – like the popular Freak Out, where riders are "strapped in and turned upside down and all around," organizers say. While tweens and teens are sure to head for anything that spins, speeds or drops them from a distance, there are a variety of kiddy rides, too, that your little ones will love.

Find games galore, too, plus plenty of carnival food including classics like elephant ears, corndogs and cotton candy. And did we mention live entertainment? Concert offerings include a popular open mic Friday Night Live on May 3. DJs will spin great tunes, as well.

Admission to the carnival is free. Individual food and ride tickets may be purchased separately. Ride all day wristbands may be purchased for $20 each.

The Pontiac Regional Chamber promotes the growth and development of business while contributing to a safe, stable and prosperous environment.

The carnival will help them further their mission by acting as a fundraiser for the Chamber. Carnival times are as follows:

  • Thursday, April 25: 4-10 p.m.
  • Friday, April 26: noon-11 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 27: noon-11 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 28: noon-9 p.m.
  • Monday, April 29: 4-10 p.m.
