'The Velveteen Rabbit' at the Marquis Theatre in Northville

Actors at this historic hub bring a storybook classic to life, March 9-May 5, 2013

To kids, a toy can be a pal, a sleeping buddy and even a source for cuddling when scared. But what if your little one's fluffy confidant could come to life?

Well, from March 9 until May 5, 2013, toys will come to life on stage – because the Marquis Theatre will be presenting The Velveteen Rabbit, a tale about a stuffed animal rabbit that comes to life when adored by his owner.

Not only can you introduce your tots to a theatrical depiction of such a storybook classic, you can also give them a first-hand look at one of Northville's historic landmarks. After all, some of the greats – such as Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford – have performed at the Marquis Theatre!

Those familiar with the story know that the Velveteen Rabbit comes to life when loved, but will this little rabbit always be loved? You'll have to watch the show to find out!

Performances take place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays with four select weekday performances at 2:30 p.m. from April 2 until 5.

Ticket prices are $9 – and group rates and reserved seating are available for groups of 20 or more. If you want to check out the other four shows that the Marquis will offer this season, you can also purchase season tickets for $30. Kids must be 3 and up to attend, so you might want to leave your little tots with the sitter while checking out this show.

See the Metro Parent listing for more information on The Velveteen Rabbit at the Marquis Theatre in Northville.
