Is the second round of children going to be chosen from the "extra day" of the contest only, or are the children from the first CoverKids 2011 still have a chance of being chosen?

It was previously reported that we'd be choosing the second batch of Cover Kids only from our extra date on Sept. 10 in Westland. But that was incorrect. All of the kids who registered and appeared at any of our Cover Kids search dates at Great Lakes Crossing a few months ago and the ones who come to our upcoming date will be considered for this final batch of the year. So, if you came to the Great Lakes Crossing event and your child wasn't chosen yet, there is still a chance that he or she will. We hope this helps.

When you reserve an appointment time, how long can you expect to be at the event? Can you request morning or afternoon? Please advise.

Expect to be at the event for about 30 mins. Once you received your scheduled time in the mail and the time doesn’t work for you, give the events department a call and they’ll see if they can accommodate you.

My 2 year old daughter participated in the Great Lakes Competition, and wasn't having a good day. Is it beneficial to bring her out to the extra day?

When will the second batch of kids be announced?

Our judges are professionals with 30 years of experience, so they can spot a Cover Kid in a minute. However, if you feel that your child wasn't at their best, then it's up to you if you would like to bring them to Westland Mall. You are more than welcome to come as a walk-in on Saturday if your daughter is up for it!

The second batch of kids will be announced in November. Look for them at metroparent.com and in our magazine.

Will you be doing any more of these events in the near future? My kids were sick with colds on Saturday so I didn't bring them out, and now I'm kicking myself that we didn't participate. Do the judges ever pick cute brother/sister teams? I get a lot of compliments on my kids. Thank you.
