Chelsea Community Fair

For 77 years, this decades-old fair has demolition derbies, livestock judging, tractor pulls, crafts, exhibits, midway games, grub and oodles more.

Warren Birthday Bash

Aug. 21-24, 2014

  • Times: 4-10 p.m. Thursday-Friday, noon-11 p.m. Saturday and noon-10 p.m. Sunday

Come for a carnival, Friday fireworks, a laser light show, a Taste of the Community and special Saturday fun for kids. Plus, see Frozen at the family movie night.

Lincoln Park Days

It's a full-on carnival in front and a midway in back. Lots of food, kids' games and a car show on Sunday.

Dragon on the Lake in Lake Orion

Aug. 22-24, 2014

Dragon boat races are a must-see at this fest that also features live art demos, parade of lights, plus a chalk art challenge, children's park, music and more.

Saline Community Fair

Aug. 27-Sept. 1, 2014

  • Times: 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-dusk Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Monday (rides only)

Visit this fest for the carnival rides and classic lures like rock wall climbing, magic shows, tractor pulls, rides, parade and the Miss Saline crowning.

Michigan Peach Festival of Romeo

Arts, Beats & Eats

This annual blast has samples from 50-plus restaurants, plus 200 music performers, 130 artists and kids fun.

Detroit International Jazz Festival
