Chelsea Community Fair

For the 76th year, this Washtenaw County fest brings livestock loving locals together. Catch the family fun Aug. 20-24, 2013 (plus fun Aug. 18 and 19, too!).

The Chelsea Community Fair returns Aug. 20-24, 2013, and it's ready to bring your family everything you need to get your hands dirty and have a little fun to celebrate the end of summer!

This fair features animal shows and judging, clowns and a demolition derby. Be sure to stop by the main arena at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for the children's parade. Check out the lumberjack show at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday for entertaining competitions like log rolling and wood hacking.

C'mon by for a rip-roarin' good time. Hours for the fair are as follows:

  • Tuesday: noon to 10 p.m.
  • Wednesday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Word to the wise: There's some action on the two days before the event officially starts, too. Pre-game the fair with a little good ol' fashioned tractor pulling on Sunday, Aug. 18 and Monday, Aug. 19. Gates are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission to the pull on these two days is free!

For the main festival, admission is priced at $7 for anyone 11 and older. Kids ages 10 and under get in free; daily ride passes are $20. Rides are open to the public starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. Hey, moms: On Friday, admission for women is $5 before noon.

For more information about the 2013 Chelsea Community Fair, including the address, be sure to check out the Metro Parent calendar listing.
