Warren Birthday Bash

Celebrate the Macomb County city's 56th birthday at this seventh annual party for families Aug. 22-25, 2013, including carnivals, concerts, movies and more

Get ready to blow out the candles, Warren: This year you turn 56!

Don't miss the Warren Birthday Bash Aug. 22-25, 2013 – marking the seventh annual birthday party celebration for the city. The festivities are set for 4-10 p.m. Thursday-Friday, noon-11 p.m. Saturday and noon-10 p.m. Sunday.

This year, Warren is going big with a long weekend of carnival rides, games and food. Wristbands for carnival rides cost $20 per person. There's a discount available for the Thursday rides; be on the lookout for coupons at local businesses or stop by the Warren Community Center or mayor's office to get yours. Watch trained pigs race round the track every day of the bash, too. The races occur a few times a day, so those cute curlicue tails will be hard to miss!

Admission and parking to the bash and carnival is free, which means kids can enjoy tons of entertainment and fun for little to no cost! Children also will get a kick out of the petting zoo, Warren Kiwanis Kids Circus and Disc Dogs of Michigan's high-flying show.

Bring the kids on Friday evening to be wowed by a fantastic fireworks display at 9 p.m. The night before, catch a movie in an unconventional setting: Oz the Great and Powerful shows outside Thursday evening.
