Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum's Trio of New Exhibits

The Washtenaw County museum features three interactive exhibits offerings education on everything from science to liquid motion.

Learning meets big-time fun at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum – and the Washtenaw County spot just welcomed three fresh interactive exhibits! Debuting last month, these newcomers tout a number of cool features, giving families the chance to explore liquid motion, words, music and art – even science and technology. They're free with admission and designed for all ages. Here's the skinny.

H2Oh!

Your family learns how powerful water can be in a sprawling 1,000-square-foot exhibit. Pump water, use streams, build dams, spray nozzles and a whole lot more – just to see how water can push, pull and move contraptions and objects.

L is for Laser

The work of laser artist Mike Gould and music of Ken Kozora converge for a groovy experience that also incorporates the alphabet. The laser art actually reacts to your movements! Find this special summer exhibit in the museum's ScienceWorks lab noon-3 p.m. daily through Aug. 24.

Nano: Imagine and Discover a World You Can't See

Small doesn't mean insignificant. The Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network, with the support of the National Science Foundation, created this exhibit about nanoscience, featuring balance block and carbon nanotube building activities, plus a chance to experiment with magnetite sand – to note just a few highlights
