Rumpelstiltskin at the Marquis Theatre in Northville

The Brothers Grimm fairytale comes to life on stage Aug. 4-Sept. 21, 2014. Introduce your children to this classic story at a fun theater event.

Let your child's imagination run wild this Aug. 4-Sept. 21, 2014, as the one-of-a-kind fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin makes its way to Northville's Historic Marquis Theatre.

The classic German story that's been loved by many since the 1800s can now capture your child's heart as she gets a taste of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale in modern day storytelling.

It's the story of a strange little man who strikes a deal with the miller's daughter to trade valuable sentiments for his service of making gold. He does this all with hopes of meeting the king's expectations and preventing his evil ways from being revealed.

Performed by local kid actors, the colorful set designs, extravagant costumes and props will also help bring to life this children's tale and capture the entire audience's attention.

The play runs various days of the week from Aug. 4-Sept. 21. Show times are as follows:

  • Mondays-Fridays (Aug. 4-8 and 11-15): 10:30 a.m.
  • Saturdays (Aug. 9, 16 and 23, Sept. 6, 13 and 20): 2:30 p.m.
  • Sundays (Sept. 7, 14 and 21): 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $9 each, and group rates with reserved seating are also available for 20 guests or more. Families with kids ages 4-plus are encouraged to attend the show.
