Beaumont, Troy 44201 Dequindre Road Beaumont, Grosse Pointe 468 Cadieux Road Beaumont Family Birth Centers, Obstetrical Care and Parenting Program The state-of-the-art birth centers at Beaumont hospitals in Royal Oak, Troy and Grosse Pointe delivered more than 9,000 babies in 2011. Private rooms are available for all birth center and obstetrical services patients. Beaumont’s comprehensive obstetric offerings span the pregnancy and childbirth experience from pre-conception care to parenting classes, from low-risk to high-risk deliveries. Offerings include: • advanced medical care from leading obstetricians, gynecologists, pediatricians and neonatologists In July 2012, Beaumont completed renovations of 20 labor and delivery rooms in its Family Birth Center at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Expecting parents stay in birthing rooms complete with cozy furniture, sleeper sofas and bathrooms with spa-like amenities – for extra comfort during labor. The private patient birthing rooms include a docking station for portable media players, flat-screen televisions, refrigerators and blanket warmers. Renovations include noise-reducing flooring, warm design finishes, soothing wall colors and artwork to provide a restful environment. Following delivery, Beaumont offers new parents the most comprehensive education and support anywhere. Only Beaumont’s nationally recognized Parenting Program provides free expert guidance in individual and group settings, with topics ranging from CPR and developmental milestones to infant massage and feeding. Unique parent-to-parent groups build a network of support that often continues through the toddler and teenage years. New parents who choose Beaumont have all the help they need to adjust to the enormous changes a tiny baby will make in their lives. Topics like infant massage highlight the exclusive Beaumont Parenting Program, which has been recognized by two national organizations. Jackson Healthcare honored the program with a Hospital Charitable Service Award for improving community health and increasing access to healthcare education and services. The Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals granted the Parenting Program its Award for Excellence, given to those who have demonstrated exemplary service and contribution to the profession of healthcare volunteer management.  Approximately 260,000 babies born in the United States this year will require admission to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Beaumont has two NICU locations. At Beaumont, Royal Oak, the 50-bed NICU specializes in caring for high-risk, premature and critically ill newborns. Board-certified neonatologists are on site 24 hours a day. At Beaumont Hospital, Troy, the 15-bed NICU treats high-risk, premature newborns of 28 weeks or more gestation. | |||||||||||||||||
