Opening to the public in 1881, J.L Hudson was quickly able to pay back all its creditors with interest. This indication of Hudson’s honesty and integrity saved him in later times of trouble. The long history and memorable traditions of this store, which soon became a Detroit destination, are highlighted throughout the film.
