Black History Month at the Detroit Institute of Arts

Description

In honor of Black History Month, the Detroit Institute of Arts offers a variety of exciting activities Wednesdays-Sundays, including live music, films, storytelling, drop-in workshops, artist demonstrations, lectures, puppet performances and great art. Times are as follows:

  • Tuesdays-Thursdays: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Fridays: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Saturdays-Sundays: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

For families/all ages, swing by Fridays (6-9 p.m.) to make an Adinkra cloth banner, Saturdays (noon-4 p.m.) to create Inuit snow snakes and Sundays (noon-4 p.m.) for some "doodle art" time.

Cost Free/tri-county residents; others: $8/adults, $4/kids
