The third-annual Detroit Design Festival puts Detroit's creative community on display. This year's DDF will feature 60 events connecting 300 designers and creative practitioners with design enthusiasts over five days.
Be sure to visit on Saturday, Sept. 21 for the Youth Innovation Center, set up 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Center for Creative Studies, with events completely dedicated to kids. Key events like Eastern Market After Dark (Thursday, Sept. 19) and Light Up Livernois (Friday, Sept. 20) also welcome families.
Other highlights this year include the Detroit Design Festival official launch party Sept. 17, Toyota Lecture Series Sept. 18, debut of The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller at the DIA Sept. 19, Detroit's historic Avenue of Fashion unveiling Sept. 20, Design in Motion Sept. 21 and walking tours of Lafayette Park Sept. 22.
Featuring dozens of design installations, shows, previews, performances and workshops, the DDF takes place at venues along Detroit's Creative Corridor, from Downtown Detroit to New Center, and in neighborhoods throughout Detroit.
