As part of five new, permanent exhibits at the Detroit Historical Museum, Doorway to Freedom: Detroit and the Underground Railroad gives families the opportunity to learn about Detroit's role during a pivotal time in American history. Through this exhibit, children can better understand the importance of the city and how it connects to black history. Times are as follows:
