Advanced and accelerated students can be among the most organizationally challenged – often in contrast to the expectations of the adults in their lives. Guest speaker Dr. Kelly Schultz presents methods and techniques to use at school and at home to help students become more organized. Solutions to problems with homework, planners, backpacks and time management are offered, and prizes are awarded to participants with the most helpful ideas. Participants gain ideas from this hands-on session that can be immediately implemented to help the disorganized student in their life.
Dr. Kelly Schultz is director of the Academically Talented Youth Program at Western Michigan University (WMU) where she teaches computer science. She and her husband, Martin, have two gifted boys. Kelly has been the webminder for MAGC for several years and regularly contributes articles to Images. She is also secretary of her local chapter, Partners in Learning for Unlimited Success, in southwest Michigan, and sits on the board of Northwestern University’s Midwest Academic Talent Search.
