The Science of Rock 'n' Roll Exhibit at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit

The Science of Rock 'n' Roll exhibit tells the music's story from a new perspective, showing how science and technology influenced its birth and evolution. The highly interactive exhibit explores its history, uncovers the fundamental building blocks of music, demonstrates how instruments work, investigates how sounds are produced, reveals the science of sound recordings and sheds light on careers in the music business.

Best of all, this highly interactive experience allows visitors to share their music recordings with the exhibit through social media.

See the exhibit during the following hours (note: check ahead after Aug. 30, as times may change then):

  • Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-6 p.m.

Note: The Michigan Science Center will be closed on Thursday July 4 and Monday Sept. 2, 2013, for holidays.

Cost $19.95/adults, $16.95/ages 2-12 (includes general admission)
