CoverKids Search 2014 Finalists
Can my kid be on a 2014/2015 cover of Metro Parent magazine?
If you submitted your child's photo – via the MetroParent.com CoverKids contest page – by the March 31, 2014 deadline, there's a chance! That means your child was officially in the running to appear on one of our covers, primarily between June 2014 and August 2015. If you missed it, be sure to surf back to the MetroParent.com Events page in early January 2015 (that's when we'll be kicking off the search for kids for our 2015-2016 issues).
OK, I entered. Is my kid a winner?
If your child is a finalist, Metro Parent will contact you via email. We ask for your patience. We've had a team of designers and photographers hard at work selecting 100 total finalists. Again, you'll receive an email from us if you're a finalist.
Yay, my kid's a finalist! What does that mean?
Our team of designers and photographers is narrowing the entries down to 100 finalists. Of those 100, one grand-prize winner, six winners and 10 "Readers' Choice" nominees will be chosen.
The email you receive from us also is an invitation to a live audition. The invite will include the place, date and your child's scheduled time slot. Your child will briefly take the stage in front of our photographer judges, who ask a series of simple questions and watch for kids' natural poise, personality and ability to follow directions. This will be at a centrally located southeast Michigan destination. Again, all the details will be in your official invitation.
What is a "Readers' Choice" nominee?
Ten children will be selected as "Readers' Choice" nominees. Those kids' photos will be on Metro Parent's website and readers will be encouraged to vote for their favorite. The child with the most votes will win the last cover spot available.
Got it. So when do we know if we won?
One grand-prize winner, six winners and 10 "Readers' Choice" nominees will be contacted via telephone shortly after the live audition. All winners will be announced in the June issue of Metro Parent and on MetroParent.com.
