Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker at Fox Theatre, Detroit

Spend Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 with the family at this holiday performance – a tour tradition that visits southeast Michigan with dancers, puppets and more

Revisit a holiday love story on the tips of your toes – at a performance of Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker at the Fox Theatre, appearing in Detroit on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011.

With the leaps, turns and twirls of 40 impeccably trained dancers, this performance breathes life into the classic tale of a girl who falls in love with a Nutcracker Prince. Enjoy watching their adventure through a glittering snow forest, meeting enchanted toys and facing an evil mouse king, all while telling the story through the graceful technique of Russian Ballet.

Over 200 extravagant costumes, hand-crafted backdrops and larger-than-life puppets designed by Russian puppet master Valentin Federov light up the stage for a whimsical performance the entire family can enjoy.

This year is the 19th annual tour of Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker to over 60 cities across North America and features award-winning dancers Karyna Shatkovskaya and Vladimir Tkachenko.

Don't miss out on the only performance happening in Michigan at The Fox Theatre in Detroit one day only! The magic arrives at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011. Tickets range from $28.50 up to $122.
