Northville Nite Family New Year's Eve Fun

Get your passport stamped in South Africa, China, Australia and other countries at the Northville Nite New Year's Eve celebration! The theme to this year's event, which is Dec. 31, 2011, is traveling "Around the World" – and kids can enjoy a DJ, magician and even a New Year's ball drop at the kid-friendly time of 8 p.m.

This family shebang has a ton of sponsors who are bringing lots of fun activities to ring in 2012. Home Depot is supplying children with craft kits to make their own New Year's memories. Kona Ice is giving each child a free tropical shaved ice treat upon arrival. And Miniature Motor Ways will be here for everyone to play with slot cars – matchbox-size cars that zoom around a track!

In addition, a group of students from Northville High School are putting on a performance of Little Red Riding Hood in French to take you to yet another international destination. And with seven big inflatables for kids to play in, to boot, 2012 is sure to be the most fun year ever!

The party starts at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 inside the recreation center at Hillside Middle School and lasts until 8 p.m. Tickets are $3 for ages 1-2, $16 for ages 3-17 and $7 for ages 18-plus.
