Trans-Siberian Orchestra Performs the Palace of Auburn Hills

The world famous orchestra, known for its blend of rock 'n' roll and classical tunes, hits the stage Dec. 29, 2012, for its 'The Lost Christmas Eve' tour

Lights, lasers, pyrotechnics and classic tunes with a rock 'n' roll spin – it's all in store when the Trans-Siberian Orchestra takes the stage at the Palace of Auburn Hills Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.

Keep the holiday fun going with this post-Christmas extravaganza – which returns to southeast Michigan for another year – this time for "The Lost Christmas Eve." The TSO, which teamed up with the Hallmark Channel for this tour, will perform more than 100 shows in 65 cities.

The TSO, which debuted in 1996, blends heavy metal with classic holiday tunes – like "The First Noel" and "Come All Ye Faithful." The group is the brainchild of Paul O'Neill – who wanted to "create a progressive rock band," according to the TSO's website. O'Neill was influenced by some of his favorite artists – Pink Floyd, The Who and more – but he wanted to take his love for rock 'n' roll and blend to another level to create a unique sound.

And the super-talented O'Neill has definitely succeeded! To date, the TSO has performed in more than 80 countries and sold more than 7 million albums.

Chances are if you've listened to holiday music on a local radio station this season, you've heard "Carol of the Bells." Will the TSO perform this fan favorite tune live? There's only one way to find out!

Catch the show at 3 or 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29. Tickets range from $33 to $73 and can be purchased online.
