The Detroit Yacht Club has been called "The Resort in the City," located on an 11-acre private island with more amenities and activities than any other club in the Great Lakes. Youth activities include a summer day camp, youth tennis, youth sailing programs, swim lessons and a competitive swim team – and more.
For what a family might spend on a two-week vacation, families enjoy indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, saunas, complete fitness center, tennis, racquetball, squash, sand volleyball and bocce courts, horseshoe pits, BBQ pits, 356 slip harbor, sailing center, formal and casual dining ALL YEAR LONG!
The Detroit Yacht Club has a wonderful swim program that includes swim lessons, as well as a competitive swim team. The DYC will host the 2013 MICSA swim finals this year bringing teams from all over the area and nearly 3,000 family members and supporters.
When it comes to sailing fun, the DYC has what it takes. Children ages 8 to 17 years old learn the skills needed to sail their own boats in out protected lagoon with U.S. SAILING Certified Instructors. As skills grow, our young sailors venture into more open water under the careful supervision of our professionally trained instructors.
