OUCARES (Oakland University's Center for Autsim) has 2 camp offerings this year for children diagnosised with Autism Spectrum Disorder; Pee Wee Camp for ages 3-5 yrs . and Summer Day Camp for children 6-12 yrs old.
The camps are developed to work with our campers to have fun while working to improve skills to improve their quality of life through socialization, well being and indepenance.
There are 4 sessions that are each two weeks long providing recreational activities with an academic component. Each of camp session is themed based to incorporate learning with the fun activities. Our lead camp teachers all have their autism certification and several years of demonstrated success teaching children with autism spectrum disorder.
Pee Wee Camp (ages 3-5) includes on campus field trips, music, arts and crafts, sensory fun, playing with new friends and so much more.
Summer Day Camp (ages 6-12) includes field trips, indoor swimming, hikes, music, arts and crafts, playing sports and lots more.
