At YMCA Camp, kids discover new skills, make friends, gain confidence, and develop independence and leadership skills in a caring, supportive community. Campers try a wide range of activities, learning about their interests while developing new skills and talents, under the careful guidance of responsible Y staff. Offering Day and Overnight, Ranch, Teen Leadership and Family Camps for boys and girls ages 5-17, Nissokone and Ohiyesa have been favorites for generations.
Camp Ohiyesa, conveniently located in Holly just minutes from US-23 and M-59, has a country setting on Fish Lake perfect for Day, Overnight or Family Camp. The 100-foot “Wet Willie” waterslide, ranch program, giant swing, canoes and inflatable bounce village add to the wide variety of activities. Specialties like Build-It, Camp’s Top Chef, Robotics, Camp News, and Survivor create an experience to remember. A great place for younger campers to start their camp adventure. Bus transportation and financial assistance available.
Camp Nissokone is our northern adventure camp, located on Lake Van Etten in Oscoda. The perfect destination to learn sailing, kayaking, fencing, water skiing and wakeboarding. Other favorites include paintball, horseback riding, high ropes course and zip line. Offering outstanding Ranch and Teen Leadership programs for specialized experiences. The ideal location for older campers and families to continue their camp adventure. Bus transportation available from Livonia and Birmingham. Financial assistance available.
Family Camps offered Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day weekends, as well as week-long family vacations from June-August.
From pony rides to two-week overnight Ranch Camp, Ohiyesa and Nissokone have a horse opportunity for every rider. Ohiyesa offers ranch programs for day and overnight campers, plus pony ride sign-ups. Nissokone campers visit the barn with their cabin for a horseback ride and ranch campers spend time at the barn daily, riding and caring for the horses.
At the waterfront, campers can enjoy lots of opportunities to have fun and learn new skills, always under the careful supervision of responsible lifeguards. Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, tubing, sailing, paddleboards and waterskiing are just some of the fun boating at camp.
