About: Most pediatric practices just focus on general wellness care for children under age 18, but Shelby Pediatrics Associates and Child Lung Center is different.
"Dr. Bhimsen Rao has credentials as a pediatric pulmonologist,” says Dr. Neethi Patel. Dr. Rao founded the practice almost 40 years ago. Today, he, along with Drs. Patel, Salvatore Ventimiglia and Zeena Al-Rufaie continue to provide exceptional care to families.
This level of service is a great convenience to the many parents whose children suffer from allergies and asthma, and it’s just one of the examples of Shelby Pediatrics’ commitment to providing quality, convenient care to its patients.
In addition to exemplary pulmonary medicine and general pediatric care, the doctors of Shelby Pediatrics and Child Lung Center offer the latest technology of vision screening known as the Visual Evoked Potential Test, which allows children as young as 6 months old to be screened before they are able to do a standard vision exam. Patel says the test is incorporated into child wellness visits.
Parents who take their kids to Shelby Pediatrics for check-ups need not fear that they’ll be exposed to germs from the sick children who are being treated at the practice. The office has separate waiting rooms for sick and well children – complete with separate fish tanks, which keep kids entertained as they wait.
The office also offers Saturday appointments for sick visits, as well as late hours on Monday and Thursday during the school year.
