I aRt Festival at the Marquee of Redford Township

No more summer boredom for your kids. The I aRt Festival runs July 20-21, 2013, at the Marquee of Redford Township.

There are tons of art projects for kids of all ages – including sculpting, origami, rain sticks and much more! The fest also boasts a Story Porch where your little ones can hang out and hear a story told by local storytellers. Or they can check out the bubble tubs, painting easel or sidewalk chalk. Music takes a new twist with the percussion station made from recycled objects.

The festival features juried artists, demonstrations, art workshops and live entertainment. There will be free, family-friendly art workshops Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. How-to workshops are offered in mediums such as poetry, painting, drumming, paper making and many more.

Come grab some grub as local restaurants and nonprofits will be offering fresh food!

Want a fun night out for just the adults? Stop at the beer garden and karaoke 8-11 p.m. on Friday. The beer garden runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

The festival hours are as follows:

  • Saturday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission to the festival is free.
