Kids Classes

Recently named "2011 String Project of the Year", String Project@Wayne provides high-quality affordable string classes for children from the entire Detroit Metro area.

Beginning violin, viola, and cello classes are open to children in grades 3-5; beginning bass students are accepted through grade 6. No experience is necessary to join, but string students through grade 7 with prior experience may join us at Level II or III by audition.

Classes meet twice a week (Tues/Sat) at WSU. Tuition for the entire year is $190 per child, payable in two installments; there is also a $40 registration fee per family. Instrument rental is a separate cost and ranges from $17 - $48/month depending on the instrument chosen. Tuition credits are available for students choosing cello or bass, to help offset the higher rental fees.
