Milan Fair in Downtown Milan

Sixty-six years of community fun is nothing to sneeze at! And sure enough, when it comes to rides, games and fun in Washtenaw County, the Milan Fair, is ready to deliver once again May 28-30, 2015.

Held at Wilson Park, this event, one of the annual Michigan festivals, returns with 18 events, 20 sponsors and 25 vendors for a solid three total days of family fun.

Spend a day out on the midway with some carnival ride and games, or let your kids have at those rides as you drop by the Artisan Market to browse the creations of some area crafters – or grab a cold one in the adult beer tent. A Saturday cornhole tournament is sure to be a fave this year too.

Looking for even more specific special events? There’s plenty to fill your plate. On opening Thursday, a parade steps off at 6 p.m., traveling from Paddock Elementary School to Wilson Park. Friday has a 7 p.m. show by the Step Aside band – and don’t miss the big fireworks show at 10:05 p.m. (tip: get there early; the crowd is huge!). And Saturday sees an 8 a.m. Family Fun Bicycle Ride (followed by the Cone-Azalia Crit speed bike event) – plus it’s Kids Day at the fair.

And don’t forget to enjoy delicious fair food like chicken and ribs, authentic Mexican and pizza.

Admission is free, while unlimited ride wristbands are $20 Thursday and $22 Friday-Saturday (individual ride ticket also available). Times are as follows:

  • Thursday: 5-10 p.m.
  • Friday: 4-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon-11 p.m.
