An Excellent Tradition:
Franklin Academy was previously known as Echo Park Learning Center, the premier preschool in Oakland County for over 48 years. The Academy’s curriculum and philosophy are the same.
Excellence of Teaching Staff:
Many former Echo Park staff members are lead teachers or assistants at the Academy. All lead teachers hold Bachelor’s Degrees in either Early Childhood Development or Early Elementary Education. All lead teachers are certified with the State of Michigan.
Building the Foundation for a Healthy Mind and Body…
The Staff of Franklin Academy will provide all children with the learning experiences which develop skills and attitudes that establish a foundation for a successful educational journey.
Franklin Academy has a commitment to providing the best early educational experiences for all children. The school offers a comprehensive, play based, developmentally appropriate program. Total development of the child (physical, social-emotional and cognitive) is stressed throughout the program.
We recognize that each child is unique, with individual growth patterns and learning styles. The play-based curriculum at Franklin Academy, therefore, provides a variety of experiences for each child to participate in and progress at his/her individual developmental level. We have created a flexible program within a certain structure and it is in this rich stimulating environment that children are encouraged to explore and experiment.
Additionally, through our exceptional enrichment programs children will learn the importance of staying fit and healthy by participating in daily physical exercise.
“The staff and teachers of Franklin Academy are like our extended family. The academics, enrichment classes and amenities of the athletic club collectively support his social, emotional and physical skills. He's learned problem solving and critical thinking - tools he can use for the rest of his life - while having fun and developing many friendships. We know without a doubt, when he moves on to the first grade, Franklin has provided the best base possible for his continued growth.” - The Frank's
