The Student Connection is a place where students change into learners. Every member of our multidisciplinary team is committed toward that objective.
Our professional team includes educators, school psychologists, clinical psychologists, and speech and occupational therapists. We provide comprehensive, high quality, professional educational services through our diagnostic, therapeutic, and tutorial programs.
What We Do:
• Tutoring • Skill Development • Preparation for Standardized Examinations • On-Site Academic Programs and Support • College Counseling • Evaluations • Advocacy for Parents • Psychological Services
Our tutors help students improve in academic subjects, such as reading, writing, math, science and foreign language, from pre-school to grad school levels. We also help students prepare for college tests, including the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT. We help people find the right school or university, matching a student’s unique goals and interests.
The Student Connection also serves students who have learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, and other special needs that require one-on-one focus. Our clinical staff is qualified to diagnose, evaluate and treat psychoeducational disorders, including attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders.
Who needs educational evaluation and testing? Students and children with:
• Inability to Sustain Attention • Poor Study Habits • Test Anxiety / Poor Test Performance • Difficulty with Comprehension • Poor Grades in Academic Subjects • Difficulty Processing Information • Memory Problems • Social Adjustment Problems.
Educational evaluations gather information about a student's learning and functional abilities in order to best determine the individual's needs. The evaluation helps identify children who are eligible for special education and related services.
The Student Connection augments private home school programs, and operates a Home School. We also represent students and parents by serving as their advocates with schools, teachers and other educational and professional settings.
Individual tutoring in a variety of subjects including Math, Languages, Spanish, French, Chinese and American Sign Language. We work one on one with students to improve writing skills and offer a variety of writing workshops, including college essay writing. Our credit recovery program offers a personalized approach to online classes.
We guide you through the testing and evaluation process. Our Neuropsychologist administers test for ADD, ADHD and other learning disabilities in a private setting. Then we create custom programs designed for your student and your family. We counsel and advocate with the school for your student and their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
The ACT and SAT can determine your child’s college opportunities and we know how to help them achieve the best results. Unlike online or group classes we offer one-on-one guidance to help students unlock the keys to the test. Preparation includes various types of essays, as well as comprehension and critical thinking skills.
