Annual Train Show and Sale at Saline Middle School

All aboard! Travel the rails and take your youngsters to this locomotive adventure filled with attractions, tips and more – happening in Washtenaw County, Feb. 16-17, 2013

I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. Well, now you can! Stop huffing and puffing the words of Thomas the Train and take your little conductors to a hands-on experience that they'll be sure to remember. Hop aboard and head down to the 43rd annual Train Show and Sale at Saline Middle School, Feb. 16-17, 2013.

With over 400 tables filled with locomotive wonder, there's no way that your youngster's attention will get derailed during this event.

Kids can look over operating layouts, get some tips and tricks from well-known master-model railroader Leslie Eaton or build take-home laser kits with Andy Lester.

But children won't just walk away with tips, tricks and laser kits in tow; they'll also have the opportunity to enter a free raffle. Winners will receive "vendor bucks," which can be used to purchase things from the many dealers – from all around the world – that will be present at this two-day track of fun.

All of that motion is going to work up an appetite. You're in luck; you can feed your engine at this event, too, because food will be offered. Times for this event are as follows:

  • Saturday, Feb. 16: 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 17: 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Admission for this train-tastic showcase will be $6. Children under 10 (who are with a paid parent) will receive free admission. Scouts who are in their uniforms can also get in free. There will be a free shuttle bus service to all school parking lots.
