Ah, Valentine's Day. It's the day to celebrate love on Feb. 14 – and all month long. Metro Parent rounded up the top events in southeast Michigan for families to enjoy during the season of love, including daddy-daughter dances, mom-son shindigs, cool library events and much more. Take a peek at the festivities happening near your neighborhood. Don't forget: Some require advance registration, so be sure to call ahead to reserve your spot!

Daddy Daughter Dance at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills

Valentine's Dance and Pizza Party and Milford Cooperative Preschool

Milford Cooperative Preschool hosts this pre-Valentine's Day shindig, which features dancing, pizza and a sundae bar. Bring the entire family to celebrate.

The recreation departments in Ferndale and Oak Park team up for this dance, which is fun for dads and daughters. The evening starts out with a pre-dance dinner at The Emory in Ferndale, followed by dancing, music and more. Register by Feb. 4 to attend this event.

It's Canton's annual daddy-daughter dance and it returns once again this year – and features dancing, a butterfly souvenir, a balloon drop and more. Semi-formal or dressy/casual attire is required. Tickets for this event must be purchased by Feb. 3.

These look like fun events! As parents we have to remember that children not only love Valentine's day gifts but they also love Valentine's Day activities with the family, which give them memories to cherish forever!
