Cool Blues Ice Fest in Wyandotte

Beat the winter chills with tons of family fun at this downriver fun-filled family event, Feb. 15, 2013

Who says the winter blues can’t be beat before spring? Each third Friday of the month, the Wyandotte Business Association introduces events for children and parents of all ages. And on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, the WBA will be introducing the Cool Blues Ice Fest as part of its Third Friday initiative!

Make the most of the cold, snowy weather with complimentary horse and buggy rides through downtown Wyandotte, live ice carvings and tons of shopping at this family-friendly winter spectacle.

Starting at 6 p.m. – thanks to the It All Makes Scents gift shop, R.P. McMurphy’s and the Sushi Bar – your little ones can ooh and ahh in amazement as they watch blocks of ice take shape and turn into artistic wonders during this live ice carving show.

There will be 19 ice sculptures lining the streets of downtown Wyandotte for you and your family to check out. But, The Force might just guide you to the showstopper of ice sculptures, which will be this year’s carving of a four-to-five block Star Wars-themed Angry Birds display.

Make sure to keep an eye out for restaurant blue-plate specials while you’re making your way through the myriad of ice art, because many downtown Wyandotte businesses will be offering some awesome deals. As a special treat, some businesses will even include blue lights in the windows of their shops to tip off shoppers that they're offering some discounts.

Check out Metro Parent’s listing for more information on the 2013 Cool Blues Ice Fest in Wyandotte.
