Meet Preston, Metro Parent February 2013 CoverKid – VIDEO

He's high energy and super smart (as you can see from the cover!). Meet the Walled Lake 7-year-old boy who channeled Einstein for our education issue.

How the heck did we get Preston's hair to look Einstein-crazy for the cover of Metro Parent's February education edition? Simple. "She put cleaner in it – and she started brushing it really hard!" Well, we swear: No Lysol was involved in the creation of this cover (just good ol' gel, hair wax and lots of hairspray). But we laughed out loud at southeast Michigan kid Preston's version of what it took to turn into the famous physicist for the cover of Metro Parent's February 2013 Education edition.

You saw the cover – now check out the behind-the-scenes Q&A in our video, just below. With his infectious smile, Preston dishes on his favorite teacher and why he's a natural-born football player. You're also sure to get a kick out of his hilarious tongue-wagging outtakes:

Interested in your kid being on the cover of Metro Parent magazine? You'll want to keep your eyes on the MP Events page. That's where we post information about the upcoming event, as soon as the details are set. Natural self-confidence, poise and personality are what it takes (as you can see with Preston!). We hope you'll get your kids involved with the next CoverKids. You never know: The might wind up in the spotlight, too.
