Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff at City Theatre in Detroit

Whether you're an avid reader of the series – or you've seen all the movies – it's time to check out Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff at City Theatre in Detroit, Mar. 1-17, 2013.

Picked as the 2012 Olivier Award for "Best Entertainment and Family Show," this off-Broadway hit condenses all seven Harry Potter books into 70 minutes of hilarious, non-stop fun and action. Think it can't be done? Think again.

The whole family, ages six and up, will enjoy the quick costume changes, singing and props galore, mixed with a little Hogwarts magic. Serious fans will love a real-life game of Quidditch – with an interesting take on the rules.

Critics from both sides of the pond agree it's a smashing success, with rave reviews from the New York Times and London's Daily Telegraph. You don't want to miss this hugely entertaining show, written by former BBC Television hosts Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner.

Tickets are $35, $45 and $75 and are available through Ticketmaster. Show times are as follows:

  • Wednesdays: 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 7:30 p.m.
  • Fridays: 5:30 and 8 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 4 and 8 p.m.
  • Sundays: 1 and 6:30 p.m.

Note: There will be no 5:30 p.m. performance on Friday, March 1 and no 6:30 p.m. performance on Sunday March 3.
