Classic Love Trifle
This English dessert of layered cake, pudding and edible embellishments couldn't be easier to make. Serve it in a glass trifle bowl or individual wine glasses to display the layers.
|Ingredients:||1 package of ladyfingers sponge cakes
1 package of instant vanilla pudding
1 package raspberry gelatin
3 cups milk
1 pint strawberries
1 pint raspberries
1 small tub of whipped topping, such as Cool Whip(TM)
Layer ladyfingers around sides of trifle bowl or wine glass. Lay chunks of pound cake at bottom. Prepare instant pudding with milk. Spoon half the pudding on top of ladyfinger/cake layer. Add layer of sliced strawberries and raspberries, ensuring the fruit layer is viewed from the side. Mix some raspberry gelatin into remaining pudding to color it pink. Spoon on top of fruit layer. Top with a single layer of ladyfingers. Cover with whipped topping and garnish with remaining berries and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Chill until serving.
