Category: Dessert
Source: Kristen J. Gough
Number of Servings: 5 1/2 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies
Ingredients: Cream together:
3 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup Butter or margarine
3 eggs
2 cups milk

Add to creamed mixture:
3 Tbsp. Baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2-3/4 tsp. almond extract
9 cups all-purpose flour
Directions: Mix ingredients well in a large mixing dish. Once combined, divide dough in half and gently knead one half on a floured cutting board. Add more flour until the dough becomes slightly stiff. Wrap dough in plastic wrap. Repeat with the remaining dough.

Refrigerate for at least one hour. Roll the dough out a little at a time to a 1/4" thickness. Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for about 9 to 10 minutes. Remove from the oven when just slightly browned. Frost when cool. Freeze the leftovers.
