Birmingham Restaurant Week

Tempt your taste buds with culinary creations from Birmingham's best eateries during the 8th annual Birmingham Restaurant Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 1 and Feb. 4-8, 2013

Hey mom and dad: Jumpstart yours sweetie's heart with a romantic pre-Valentine's Day dinner during Birmingham's Restaurant Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 1 and Feb. 4-8, 2013.

More than 20 Birmingham restaurants are offering specialty three-course lunches for $15 per person, or dinners for $30 per person. Please note: These prices exclude beverages, tax and gratuity.

This annual event showcases local cuisine from area favorites such as Cameron's Steakhouse, Streetside Seafood, Salvatore Scallopini and Toast.

So what could be better? You get to spend time with your favorite guy or gal – or let the kids try a new spot with you! – plus save money, satisfy your taste buds and support a local charity.

Forgotten Harvest benefits from raffle sales during this year's event. Tickets are sold at participating restaurants for $5 each or three for $10.

Three lucky winners will enjoy a $500 gift certificate good for dining, shopping and entertainment in Birmingham.

After your evening out is complete, Forgotten Harvest steps in and picks up where you left off, benefiting metro Detroit residents who are in need of a nutritious meal.

In the fiscal year 2011-2012, Forgotten Harvest became America's largest food rescue by rescuing a record 43.9 million pounds of food. According to food industry standards, one pound of food equals one meal, so this is the equivalent of nearly 44 million meals per year!

So, celebrate, participate and donate during Birmingham's Restaurant Week.

Menus, pricing and hours vary, and some locations require advance reservations.

See the Metro Parent listing for more on Birmingham's Restaurant Week.
