Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show

This Macomb County spot chisels out a place for families to partake in winter fun, Feb. 1-3, 2013

Carve out those winter blues by introducing your family to a Macomb County winter wonderland during the Downtown Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show, Feb. 1-3, 2013.

Take your mini Michelangelo to this creative event – now in its eight year – where kids can check out live ice carving demonstrations on Walnut and Pine streets. See these live demos at the following times:

  • Friday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon-4 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-2 p.m.

Because dozens of ice sculptures will decorate the streets of downtown Mount Clemens at all hours during this event weekend, you can still get your weekend shopping done without missing out on seeing any of the fantastic, frozen art pieces.

Have you avoided getting sick this winter, or are you just getting over the much-dreaded flu and don’t want to risk catching anything while out in the cold during this event-filled weekend? Well, make sure to shake off those winter chills by keeping active at the Ice Sculpture Putt-Putt Course, a nine-hole golf course incorporating frozen chiseled creations. This winter-themed putt-putt will be available at the following times:

  • Friday: noon-6 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon-4 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-2 p.m.

If putt-putt isn’t enough to get you warmed up, then take the youngsters to the Magical Warming Station, filled with entertainment, magicians, characters, balloon animals, face painting, games, refreshments and more! Keep the little ones toasty and make sure to check out this fun-filled spot! They’re open noon-4 p.m. on Friday and noon-3 p.m. on Saturday.

Official event times are as follows:

  • Friday: noon-6 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon-4 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon-2 p.m.
