Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show

Chisel out some time to take your family to this Macomb County city's ninth annual winter festival event, happening Jan. 31-Feb. 2, 2014.

The weather sure is cold. But these chilly temps make it the perfect conditions for the annual Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show, happening in the city's downtown area Jan. 31-Feb. 2, 2014.

Throughout this family fun event, watch live ice-carving demonstrations – which is what it's all about! At the Fountain Stage, located on Macomb Place between Walnut and Pine streets, you can witness sculptors transforming blocks of ice into beautiful, glistening art. See these demonstrations 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday and noon-2 p.m. Sunday.

Still want more? Stroll through downtown Mount Clemens to see dozens of ice sculptures spread out along Macomb Place and Cherry Street Mall. Or, check out one of the event's special features: the nine-hole putt-putt golf course incorporating (can you guess?) ice sculptures. Kids play for $1 and adults can join in for $3. Take the family to check it out noon-6 p.m. Friday, noon-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-2 p.m. Sunday.

This event is free to attend. Don't forget to bundle up for this outdoor event so you can enjoy all the cool things in store.
