Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show
Visit this Macomb County spot Feb. 3-5, 2012 for some winter family fun including live ice carving demos, ice sculpture putt-putt golf and more
Create your own winter family fairytale – with a little help from Cinderella. Rumor has it she's hosting kids fun at this year's Mount Clemens Ice Carving Show, hitting the downtown area Feb. 3-5, 2012.
This free, weekend-long event – now in its lucky seventh year – is turning up the heat at Cinderella's Magical Warming Station. Check out the cool magicians, characters, balloon animals, face painting, games, refreshments and oodles more at this amped-up spot, all sponsored by ABC Magic. Located at 65 Macomb Place, it's open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Of course, don't miss the highlight ice-carving demonstrations, sure to send a chill of excitement down your spine! Catch the artists working their own magic at Fountain Stage on Macomb Place between Walnut and Pine streets. They'll be busy 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday and noon-2 p.m. Sunday.
Following the icy theme of the show is nine-hole, ice-sculpture putt-putt golf – which has been a big hit with families, says Arthur Mullen, executive director of the sponsoring Mount Clemens Downtown Development Authority. The course, back for the third year, is only $1 for kids and $3 for adults. It's open 4-7 p.m. Friday, noon-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-3 p.m. Sunday.
Visitors can also see dozens of finished ice sculptures as they take a walk along Macomb Street and Cherry Street Mall at all hours during the event weekend.
Thousands turn out to discover "Mount Clemens as the entertainment and dining capital of Macomb County," as Mullen puts it. Why not join 'em and find out why that's the case?
